Community Connections

Community Connections enables the Junior League of McAllen, Inc. to assist community agencies which do not have a need for volunteers on an ongoing basis, but may have a need to staff a one or two day special event or have a one day need for extra volunteers.  Volunteers must be needed for community-based, hands-on work that fulfills the Vision Statement of the Junior League of McAllen.  Volunteers are prohibited from fundraising for other organizations.  If your organization needs volunteers on a short-term basis, please complete the following form or contact the Junior League of McAllen at 956-682-0071.  Placement of volunteers with your organization is not guaranteed, but serious consideration will be given to your submission.

During a typical year, Community Connections assists with the following events: American Cancer Society's "Annual Golf Tournament" (which provides funds for children with cancer to go to camp), Mujeres Unidas' "Mother's Day Fun Run", Keep McAllen Beautiful's "Wild Walk Outdoor Adventure", March of Dime's "Noche Especial", Make-A-Wish's "Extravaganza", Children Advocacy Center's "Kickin’ Abuse into the Cold", The Valley Symphony Orchestra's "Youth Concerts", Tim's Coats & Toys for Tots.
